A 10-YEAR-OLD boy from Emthunzini suburb in Bulawayo was allegedly sodomised three times in a week by a man who waylaid him when he was coming from school.

The 35-year-old man from Nkulumane suburb would ambush the boy armed with an Okapi knife. He would grab the juvenile by the neck and threaten to kill him before dragging him to a house in Nkulumane where he allegedly violated him.

The man is facing three counts of aggravated indecent assault. He was not asked to plead before Bulawayo regional magistrate Mr Chrispen Mberewere.

The matter was remanded to January 11 while the court awaits a psychiatrist report on his mental state.

Prosecuting, Mr Simbarashe Manyiwa alleged that the man, who used to ask for money from the boy’s father, sodomised the minor three times in November last year while he was on his way home from school.

He said the man met the minor along a path and threatened to kill him if he screamed.

“He dragged him to a house and had anal sex with him. After the sex attack, he threatened to cut the minor’s throat if he told anyone about what had happened,” Mr Manyiwa said.

“After two days, the man met the minor at the same place. He used the same method and dragged the minor to the same house. He abused him for the second time.”

“After a day, the minor met the man at the same place. He held him by the neck, dragged him to the house and ordered him to touch his toes. He forced himself on the boy and threatened to cut his throat if he revealed the matter to anyone.”

The court heard that after a while, the juvenile started developing difficulties when relieving himself. His father asked him what had happened and he told him about the sex attacks. — @MondelaC.
