ZIMBABWE Paralympic Association president Michael Bulagango has expressed gratitude for government support to his orgaanisation ahead of the  Region Five Games in Bulawayo this December.
Bulagango said that the government has played a crucial role in assisting 30 athletes with disabilities in their preparations for the Games.

“As an association we are very grateful to the government for their timely intervention in helping the 30 athletes that will be participating in the upcoming Region Five Games to get the required documentation needed for them to participate in the competition,” said Bulagango.

He said that he was confident that Zimbabwe will win some medals from the 30 athletes that will compete in the Region Five Games as they have done it with fewer athletes in previous events.

“I am confident that we will get some medals from the 30 athletes representing us in the Games as we have managed to get some medals in previous events and with just a few athletes,” he said.

Bulagango said resources for athletes with disabilities are limited but they were going to try and get the best out of the little they have in their preparations for the Games.

He advised people with disabilities to work on discovering their talents saying they should stop trying to manipulate people and basing their lives on begging.

“People with disabilities should not just complain and should desist from begging for a living, but should work on discovering their talents as there are programmes that are set to assist them earn a living through their various talents,” he said.

Bulagango said that the public should work hand in hand with the local organising committee in making the upcoming Games a success.
