ZANU-PF Gokwe-Nembudziya MP, Cde Justice Mayor Wadyajena, who is accused of insulting First Lady Cde Grace Mugabe, will face disciplinary action from the party, national commissar Cde Saviour Kasukuwere said yesterday.

Cde Kasukuwere was at Mandwandwe High School in Bulawayo where he addressed party supporters to drum up support for Cde Killian Sibanda, who is representing Zanu-PF in Saturday’s by-election for Nkulumane constituency.

Quizzed on whether the party was going to take disciplinary action against Cde Wadyajena, Cde Kasukuwere said “Yes,” without elaborating.

Cde Wadyajena is out on $800 bail after allegedly insulting the First Lady during the Zanu-PF 15th People’s Conference which ended in Victoria Falls on Saturday.

He allegedly passed an unprintable comment about Cde Mugabe in an altercation with Zanu-PF member Cde Jimayi Muduvuri from Mashonaland West Province.

Addressing party supporters at the Nkulumane rally, Cde Kasukuwere said party members should come out in their numbers to vote for Zanu-PF.

He said Zanu-PF should win emphatically to confirm the irrelevance of the MDCs in the country political landscape.

“Zanu-PF is back in Bulawayo. His Excellency President Robert Mugabe is back in Bulawayo. We must take back everything in Bulawayo. This is the legacy that was left for us by Cde Joshua Nkomo. Every day we must remember and honour the unity that was left by President Robert Mugabe and Joshua Nkomo,” he said.

“We must not abandon the wishes of our founding fathers. They brought us the unity we cherish every day.”

He added: “Nkulumane will be a different place. It will have a Zanu-PF MP for the first time in 15 years.”

He said it was time for Zanu-PF to shame opposition parties who have brought nothing but misery to the people of Zimbabwe.

“MDC-T has failed the people of Bulawayo. The country is experiencing hardships because of sanctions invited upon us by MDC. The MDC has brought misery to people. Morgan Tsvangirai and Thokozani Khupe shame on you. Into eliyenzayo siyayizonda,” he chanted, causing the crowd to break into song and dance.

He ridiculed the MDC-T leader Morgan Tsvangirai whom he described as irresponsible and disgraceful.

“What has the MDC-T done for the people of Bulawayo? They should show us even one Blair toilet that they constructed in Bulawayo. Tsvangirai did nothing for the people of Bulawayo. The only thing he did was impregnate Bulawayo girls,” he said.

Cde Kasukuwere said it was laughable that Tsvangirai wants to lead a nation when he was failing to pay maintenance for the children he sired with different women. He said while in the government Tsvangirai was busy womanising instead of meeting the people’s needs.

“When he came to Bulawayo he never visited hospitals. He was busy in hotels and not meeting the people’s needs. He never checked if there were drugs at hospitals,” he said, drawing laughter from the party’s supporters.

He said those supporting opposition parties should wake up from their slumber as Zanu-PF would remain dominant in the country’s politics.

Cde Kasukuwere said the economy will soon turn around after the recent State visit by Chinese President Xi Jinping.

Speaking in the same event, Deputy Secretary for the Women League’s Cde Eunice Nomthandazo Moyo urged party members to go in full force and vote for Cde Sibanda.

She said there were rumours that a clique of party members had said they would not vote for Cde Sibanda.

Cde Moyo said party members should put aside their differences and vote for Zanu-PF because the party was bigger than individuals.

The First Lady donated 20 tonnes of maize and five tonnes of rice which was distributed among those who attended yesterday’s rally.
