Pastors die in accident

The other four pastors, only identified as Pastors Chigeda, Chitsa, Kandore and Ndlovu are recovering from home after being treated and discharged at UBH.
Speaking to Chronicle yesterday, AFM Bulawayo South provincial chairman Pastor Clever Mupakaidzwa confirmed the death of the two pastors, saying members of AFM were devastated by the loss.
“I am in shock as I speak to you right now. When I received the message about the accident, I was travelling from Harare, approaching Fairbridge. After an hour, I was told that Pastor Shayawako and Tashaya were dead,” said Pastor Mupakaidzwa.

“The two were taken to Esigodini District Hospital and Pastor Moyo was taken to UBH where he is in a critical condition. We are praying that God spares his life as we have suffered enough.”
Pastor Mupakaidzwa said the other four pastors were showing signs of improvement although they were in pain.
He described the dead men of God as pillars of strength for the AFM Bulawayo South province.

“Pastor Tashaya and Shayawako were my office bearers and pillars of strength in the province. They have both left a huge gap that would be difficult to fill. Life will never be the same without them,” he said.
According to Pastor Chitsa, the driver was not speeding but the car overturned because the accident occurred on a slope.
“The slope where the accident occurred contributed largely to the impact of the crash as some of the pastors were thrown out of the vehicle.

“Unfortunately, the passengers on the left side of the vehicle sustained fatal injuries,” said Pastor Chitsa.
The president of the AFM Church, Reverend Aspher Madziyire, was at a loss of words when he comforted the two bereaved families on Thursday morning.

He said the entire AFM Church was devastated by the loss of able leadership and immense pastoral care from the men of God. National Traffic spokesperson Inspector Tigere Chigome confirmed the accident.
“The accident occurred at about 8pm at the 68km peg along Bulawayo-Beitbridge Road. A Toyota Regius, which had seven occupants and travelling from Gwanda, burst a front tyre and overturned, killing two people

believed to be AFM pastors,” said Insp Chigome.
