yesterday.
The victory meant Prince Edward will now represent Harare in the national finals to be held at Marondera High on July 29-30.
The tournament was one of the provincial finals which were held across the country yesterday with winners from the 10 provinces getting the ticket to the national finals, where they will join defending champions Dewure and hosts Marondera High.
Prince Edward had beaten Glen View High 2-0 in the semi-final while Churchill got the better of Zengeza in the other match.
The highly competitive matches saw the Harare province playing 17 matches, getting five yellow cards and one red, which went to Dombo raMwari’s Max Chikambanwe.
Coca-Cola brand manager Mona Karingi was impressed with the way the games went ahead and expects an exciting inter-provincial final. “The games went on well and we look forward to an exciting final in Marondera.
“We had very competitive matches throughout the country that saw the best teams going to the finals and we look forward to the finals. It was good that there were several people who are into football who attended the matches, like Kiglon coach Pearson Matipedza and Bhekhimpilo Nyoni in Harare while Willard Khumalo was in Bulawayo. The games were played in the true spirit of soccer and we had Class Two referees in most of the finals, which made the games more professional,” Karingi said.
