THE SABC has announced that banished radio and TV personality Pearl Thusi is back in the fold!

This is after Pearl quit her Live AMP presenting job on SABC 1 earlier this month to join MTV’s new Lip Sync Battle Africa as co-presenter.

Lip Sync Battle Africa will be aired on SABC’s rival channels MTV, MTV Base and e.tv.

As a result, SABC boss Hlaudi Motsoeneng dismissed her from Metro FM only to have a change of heart, a few weeks later.

In a press release earlier this week, Hlaudi said: “In order for us to compete effectively, I’ve instructed management to ensure consistent application of the SABC’s directive regarding On-Air talent working for direct competitors.”

“To this end and with due regard to the circumstances relating to the termination of Pearl Thusi’s contract with the SABC, the corporation resolved to reinstate her services as an On-Air personality.

“In this particular instance, the directive was not applied consistently and appropriate action will be considered.”

An excited Thusi said: “I’m happy to be back at the SABC, an organisation that has provided me with a great foundation to allow me to progress within the industry.”

Meanwhile, the radio and television personality has said she would never date rapper Cassper Nyovest.

This comes after one of her Twitter followers said they “imagined Pearl and Cassper as a couple”.

Pearl said it’s “never gonna happen” and “I don’t date friend’s man or ex.”

Her response was met with adulation from some of her female followers, with some calling her a “woman with integrity, loyalty and morals”. – DailySun/Channel24
