Cde Museveni won his fourth term resoundingly in elections held early this year.
He was elected with 68 percent of the votes in an election in which 59 percent of the East African nation’s eligible voters turned out for the plebiscite.
His swearing-in ceremony today is also going to be graced by other African Heads of State including Vice President of the new Republic of Sou-thern Sudan, Salva Kiir Mayardit.
Twelve other presidents from across the continent have also confirmed their attendance in what is expected to be a grand affair in the democratic history of Uganda.
President Mugabe was accompanied by Foreign Affairs Minister Simbarashe Mbengegwi and other senior Government officials.
He was seen off by service chiefs and other high ranking Government officials.
Meanwhile, Vice President Joice Mujuru will be the Acting President.
