this year’s event.
The competition will run until Saturday and President Mugabe is expected to present the prizes to winners on Sunday.

The Zimbabwe National Army is hosting the premier shooting competition.
Officially opening the shoot, ZNA Brigadier-General responsible for training, Justin Mujaji, called for fairness and discipline among the participants.

“We urge all the participants to display high standards of musketry skills.
“Besides this being a training tool for security forces, the shoot is also a platform for fostering the spirit of oneness and cooperation among the uniformed forces and the public which must be displayed to all Zimbabweans.

“The stakeholders have done well and such cooperation must continue up until the end of the current shoot and others to come in the feature,” Mujaji said.
This year’s shoot has drawn participants from ZNA, Zimbabwe Republic Police, Zimbabwe Prisons Services, and Airforce of Zimbabwe, civilians, the Presidents’ Office, and teams from the Commander ZNA’s executive interaction initiative.

Principal prison officer, Precious Masendu, is the defending champion in the female category while Corporal Dzingai Chindito was last year’s best male overall winner.

The two remain the major drawcards going into this tournament and they are looking forward to defending their titles.
They are likely to face challenges from Mathias Muza, George Manganimanja, Memory Musabayani, Evelyn Fimba, among others, who are also geared for silverware this year.
