A 25- YEAR-OLD woman from Kwekwe has been granted a protection order against her abusive estranged husband, who has been demanding sex from her since August.

Sekai Mashiri from Mbizo 7 suburb in Kwekwe pleaded with Kwekwe Magistrate Vimbai Mutukwa to grant her the protection order against Panonetsa Ndadzungira.

Mutukwa granted the application and warned Ndadzungira that he risks being jailed if he continued to pester Mashiri.

The two are allegedly on separation after Ndadzungira allegedly moved in with his small house.

“I have granted the applicant a protection order for five years and if you violate it, you will go to jail,” she said.

Mashiri accused Ndadzungira of always forcing himself on her even when she was on her menstrual cycle since they separated sometime in August last year.

“I separated from my husband sometime in August last year after he left me for his small house who resides in Mbizo 5 and are now staying together. Since then, he has been visiting me during the night and pestering me to have sex with me.

When I refuse, he assaults me in front of the children or threatens to kill me and forces himself on me even when I am having my menstrual periods,” said Mashiri.

She said she moved house to avoid him, but he was able to locate her new residence and continues to demand sex from her.
Mashiri said she had no choice but to turn to the court to resolve the matter.

“I tried to resolve the matter with him but it seems he has become worse. He forces himself on me and threatens to kill me if I refuse.

I reported the matter to the police who then referred me to the courts to seek a protection order.”

Ndadzungira denied her claims and said they were still staying together as husband and wife and everything she was accusing him of was false.

“Your Worship, I love my wife and we still stay together with our two children,” he said.
