THE Premier Soccer League have threatened Shabanie Mine with disciplinary action after the latter allegedly criticised the way the game was being administered by the league’s authorities on their Facebook page.

The Facebook post on Shabanie Mine’s page questioned a number of things, including money taken from clubs by the league authorities, officiating of league matches, broadcasting rights and that other clubs get preferential treatment from the authorities.

In a letter signed by the league’s chief executive, Kennedy Ndebele, the PSL have threatened to crack the whip.

“We note that your club posted an article titled ZIM Soccer — 2 HEADED SNAKE (DIRECTIONLESS) written by your media officer Wesley Weston. Would you urgently furnish us with details of your allegations…Please let us have your written confirmation of the said allegations and the position of your club.

“If we do not receive the said report we will proceed and take disciplinary action against your club and media officer,” reads part of the letter.

In their response Shabanie Mine distanced themselves from the post claiming that their Facebook page was hacked.

“Our page was hacked because we lost the privileges to the page so up to now we cannot post our club news. We reported to the Facebook technical team to look into the issue and we hope they will assist us soon,” reads part of Shabanie Mine’s response.

Meanwhile, the asbestos miners will be hoping for maximum points tomorrow when they host provincial rivals Chapungu.
