Zimbabwe’s chances of winning more medals in the African Union Sports Council (AUSC) Under-20 Youth Games swimming finals have increased with 10 swimmers qualifying for final events this evening at the Bulawayo Swimming Pool.

Zimbabwe has a chance to add more medals from the two silver medals they won in yesterday’s finals in the mixed 4×100 metre freestyle relay a combination of Chad Idenson, Ratidzo Mutangadura, Roxy Brown and Peter Wetzlar while the second one came from Lawson James in the men 100 meter breaststroke event.

The athletes who made it to the final in this evening are Chad Idenson, Peter Wetzler in the 50 metre free style, Ratidzo Mutangadura in the 50 metre women’s back-stroke, James Lawson, city boy Brendan Cyprianos, Robin Lee, Mutangadura in the 50 metre Butterfly, Lourna Doorman, Laurie Stephens in the 200 metre breast-stroke and in the 200 metre backstroke Cyprianos and Dylan Steyl.

Meanwhile, one of Team Zimbabwe’s women favorites Kaleigh Graham has been dropped from the team after falling sick after yesterday’s races.
