FORMER Harare United midfielder Patrick Mubaiwa is thrilled about the arrival of former Highlanders FC midfielder Peter “Rio” Moyo at Witbank Spurs.
Moyo was signed by the team a couple of months ago but delayed his arrival because of work permit challenges.He is expected to add depth to the Mpumalanga-based National First Division side.

“As the team’s captain I’m really happy by the arrival of Moyo especially with his huge experience definitely he will boost the team. He is a skilful player with a lot of energy when he is playing. He came early this week and is already training with the team,” said Mubaiwa.

The former Young Warriors player said Moyo has finally received his work permit.

He might not be part of the team that will take on Brian Abbas Amidu’s Black Leopards today in a league match at Puma Rugby Stadium, Mpumalanga.

“We’re not certain that he is registered for the game but we need his services as soon as possible. We want to end the season in a better position,” said Mubaiwa.

The Spurs captain said all players are fit for the Leopards game.

Cleopas Dube, Peter Mubaiwa and Elasto Kapowezha Jr are part of the Spurs team.

Meanwhile, Gavin Hunt’s Bidvest Wits is in Mbabane to play against Leopards of Swaziland this afternoon in Caf Confederation Cup. Onismor Bhasera is part of the Johannesburg-based side which has a 3-0 advantage going into the preliminary round, second leg tie.

Mamelodi Sundowns are playing at home at Lucas Moripe Stadium, Pretoria this afternoon in the Caf Champions League against the Seychelles’s St Mitchel United.

Cuthbert Malajila, Khama Billiat and Kudakwashe Mahachi all Zimbabweans could be part of the the South African defending champions side.

Absa Premiership fixtures: Pretoria University v Mpumalanga Black Aces, Orlando Pirates v Polokwane City, Maritzburg United v Free State Stars.

Tomorrow: Bloemfontein Celtic v Platinum Stars, SuperSport United v AmaZulu.
