Rwanda U-20 national team will face Egypt in the U-20 Afcon second round qualifiers following a decision by Caf to ban Uganda for fielding a player with two different birth dates.

Rwanda sent a formal complaint to Caf last month accusing Uganda of committing age fraud in the first round qualifiers.

The Junior Wasps had settled for a 1-1 draw with the Hippos in the first leg in Kigali before losing to the hosts2-1 in Kampala and 3-2 on aggregate to book a date with Egypt.

Rwanda pointed out that Uganda goalkeeper James Aheebwa’s club licence presented to Caf with his club side SC Vipers when he featured in the Caf Champions League first round in February indicated his birth date as March 27, 1997 while his passport presented in the U-20 Afcon qualifiers indicates May 19, 1998.

According to the Caf U-20 rules and regulations chapter 20 that stipulates fraud, forgery and administrative error, Uganda was found guilty as charged. — supersport.com.
