SA rugby legends in Vic Falls for match

SOUTH African Rugby legends (Springbok Legends) have arrived in Victoria Falls for their match against Zimbabwe at Victoria Falls Primary School tomorrow. Africa Albida Tourism who will be hosting the South African legends as they take on their Zimbabwean counterparts, said they are thrilled to be taking part and playing host to the South Africans.

It is expected to be a big draw card for rugby fans in the region as both South Africa and Zimbabwe rugby stars have over the decades commanded a lot of following.

Interest could also come from rugby followers in Botswana, Namibia and Zambia.

Africa Albida Tourism chief executive Ross Kennedy said having the South African Legends, who are staying at Africa Albida Tourism’s Victoria Falls Safari Lodge and Victoria Falls Safari Suites, will be a big boost for business.

“To have players of this calibre and experience visiting Victoria Falls is a real delight for the entire community.

“The community shall benefit through the coaching clinic and other social responsibility programmes that they will undertake. We call upon all Zimbabweans to support this event by attending the match and cheering on our Zimbabwe Rugby Legends and giving a warm welcome to the visiting South African Rugby Legends. Special packages for the event are available which you can all take advantage of and have a great weekend in our premier resort town of Victoria Falls,” Kennedy said.

The 60-minute clash will kick off at 5pm.

Springbok Legends will coach local children today, visit the Victoria Falls Rainforest and go on a boat cruise during their three days in the resort town.
