THE Zimbabwe Sables duo Norman Mukondiwa and Andrew Rose have bounced back from injuries ahead of the Africa Cup Group A1 clash against Tunisia in July.

Sables vice-captain, Tichafara Makwanya, said it was a huge boost for the team.

“We’re happy that Rose and Norman are now fit and have joined their respective clubs,” said Makwanya.

“This is a very good indication that they may join our camp.

“The training is going on well with the local players and we’re expecting the foreign-based ones to return home before our training camp.

“During our Monday training session, we worked on our strength and conditioning, which has improved.

“We’ve been having two days of serious training. Mondays we train alone and Wednesdays we combine with the Cheetahs and work on our pace.”

Mukondiwa, who plays for Cape Town-based Union Milnerton RFC in the Western Province Super B League, had the Sables number 8 shirt when Zimbabwe beat both Kenya and Uganda home and away to win the Victoria Cup in 2011 as well as the Africa Cup the following year.

Other foreign players who are expected to come for the Sables camp include Njabulo Ndlovu, Kevin Nqindi, Biselele Tshamala, Royal Mwale and captain Denford Mutamangira.
