The Salvation Army Church international leaders General Andre and Commissioner Silvia Cox who are visiting the country ahead of the Easter holidays visited Bulawayo and Matopo over the weekend.
The church’s leaders who arrived in the country from the International Headquarters in London on Friday were welcomed by scores of Salvationists at the Joshua Mqabuko Nkomo International Airport.

The General and his wife who were accompanied by Territorial leaders Commissioners Henry and Catherine Nyagah, had a brief service and took time to interact with soldiers at the airport before proceeding to Masiye Camp in Matopo.

Yesterday, General and Commissioner Cox led the Palm Sunday at the Large City Hall in Bulawayo.
They are expected to tour several church institutions countrywide.

Salvationists from all over the country will converge in Gweru where the international leaders are expected to lead the Easter Congress.
General Andre Cox was born in Harare in 1952, to an English father and Swiss mother. He spent his childhood years in Zimbabwe and the United Kingdom.

He then moved to Switzerland where he met and married Argentinean born Commissioner Silvia.
General Cox was commissioned as an officer in the Salvation Army on May 25, 1979.

He was elected to the position of General by the 18th High Council of The Salvation Army on August 3, 2013.
He was the Chief of Staff of the Salvation Army from February 1, 2013 to August 3, 2013.
