A PROMINENT Bulawayo senior citizen Jeremiah Sigola has died.
He was 83.Sigola, was the son to the late Chief Sigola of Esigodini, and his mother, the late Lillian Mkhwanazi, was  the daughter of the late Chief Majinkila of Mberengwa.

Sigola died last week after a long illness. He suffered a stroke in 2012 and never recovered.

His longstanding neighbour, Robert Gumpo, said Sigola will be buried today at West Park Cemetery.

Sigola’s burial had been delayed because they are waiting for the arrival of his only surviving child, a daughter, from Canada.

Sigola’s sister Dahlia Dlamini, 74, said her brother’s death was a loss not only to the family, but also to the Bulawayo community.

“He was a loving person who loved everyone around him. When things were not moving at home, his presence brought joy to the family as he would solve problems and make things move. There is no replacement for my brother,” said Dlamini.

Sigola was born on September 28, 1931.

He attended Esiphezini Primary and later Mzilikazi Secondary in Bulawayo.

He worked for the Bulawayo City Council for 34 years and retired in 1995.

He is survived by wife, Mabel Khumalo, and a daughter.
