FORMER Harare City striker and reigning Castle Lager Premiership Soccer Star of the Year first runner-up, Silas Songani made a dream debut for his Superliga outfit in Denmark when he scored in the 75th minute as Sonderjyske mauled Vestjaeland 4-0.
Songani signed a two and a half year deal late last year. The win, was however not enough to take Sonderjyske off the bottom of the log standings but they still have a chance of surviving the dreaded chop.

Still in Denmark, Motor Action product Quincy Antipas was an unused substitute for Brondby in a match that ended 2-2 with AAB. Brondby are among the championship favourites, lying fourth on the standings.

In Belgium, former AmaZulu and Highlanders left-footed player, Vusa Nyoni’s side Mons were officially relegated from the elite Jupiler League despite posting a 2-1 away win over Kortijk. Nyoni was an unused substitute.

Mons have struggled throughout the season, occupying the last position from the first week. They only have 16 points with three games to go and even if they win all the remaining matches, they will end the season with 25 points, three points behind 14th placed Waasland-Beveren, who have 28 points.

Another Zimbabwean in Belgium, Ovidy Karuru could also kiss goodbye to the Belgian top league as his OH Leuven outfit are struggling. At the weekend, they lost at home 2-5 to Club Brugge with the former Masvingo United and Gunners star playing the whole match.

The Czech Republic league resumed this weekend with all the teams in action except log leaders, Sparta Praha, who are home to former AmaZulu leftback Costa Nhamoinesu.

In Romania, Mike Temwanjira’s Vaslui held CFR Cluj to a nil all draw.
