THE Sports and Recreation Commission (SRC) will hold meetings with the Zimbabwe Boxing Federation and Zimbabwe Handball Federation (ZHF) to come up with an election road map for the two associations at the end of this month.

The meetings have been slated for October 26 and 29 respectively at the SRC offices in Harare.

This follows the suspension of the two associations in February for gross violation of provisions of the SRC Act

The two associations failed to submit their audited balance sheet and income and expenditure statement from 2011-2015.

The ZHF failed to operate as a national association by failing to convene a special general meeting to elect a substantive executive committee.

“The meetings will discuss the eligibility of the members, confirmation of the two associations’ registered constitutions. We are kindly inviting the stakeholders of the two national sport associations to attend the meetings so that we can bring finality to the governance issues which have been boggling the two associations”, said Joseph Muchechetere, the SRC acting director general.

Last week the Ministry of Sport and Recreation, through the SRC, appointed an interim Wushu committee following a three-year ban of the Gilbert Makowa-led executive for violating provisions of the SRC Act.
