SRC co-ordinator Sam Dzvimbu confirmed this yesterday.

“On Saturday (tomorrow) we will be at the Cresta Churchill Hotel where we will have the induction ceremony for our Youth Games local organising committee.

“All is set and the ceremony will be officially opened by the Bulawayo Metropolitan Province Governor Cain Mathema who is the patron of the Games. We also expect the city’s Mayor, Councillor Thaba Moyo, to grace the occasion to show the City Fathers’ endorsement of the Games as well as all the provincial leadership,” he said.

Dzvimbu said structures for the LOC have been put in place and personnel to occupy those positions have been confirmed by the Provincial Education Director (PED) Dan Moyo who is the supervisor of the LOC and is also expected to grace the tournament as well as the Governor.

Provincial administrator Khonzani Ncube, the Games’ general manager, Francis Chitewe as well as Raj Modi, who is the Games’ chief executive officer, are also expected to be present at the induction ceremony.

Dzvimbu said members of the following sub-committees are also expected at the event: transport and communication, edutainment, fund-raising, finance, medical, procurement, marketing and publicity, technical, protocol and ceremonies, catering, security, accommodation and volunteers.
