The festive season in upon us and Ster Kinekor Bulawayo has a treat in store for children and those young at heart today with the showing of live action/CGI animated adventure flick Paddington 2.

Dubbed “Fun Morning”, the outing will be characterised by fun and games including face painting and colouring with festivities set to commence at 10AM.

Entrance has been pegged at $3 for children and adults who accompany children will have to pay $6 to watch the movie.

Many adults will remember the main character in the movie from the cartoon series The Adventures of Paddington Bear that aired on ZBCtv in the 90s.

This might lure the older folk who fell in love with the character during their childhood.

Ster Kinekor spokesperson, Maybe Simbisai said they were holding the Fun Morning in order to cater for their young market which often supports them.

“We’ve been holding events for the adults such as Girlfriend’s Getaway and a lot of movie premieres but nothing that has been done specifically for children.

“This is why we’ve done this event for them,” said Simbisai.

She said adults who may not be interested in watching the movie can wait for their kids in the foyer adding that those who will miss the 10AM movie can watch it throughout the day at 12.30PM, 3PM, 5.30PM and 8PM, minus the fun and games.

Paddington 2 is a 2017 British live-action/CGI animated adventure comedy film directed by Paul King and written by King and Simon Farnaby.

Based on the stories of the character Paddington Bear created by Michael Bond, it is the sequel to the 2014 film Paddington and is produced by Heyday Films and StudioCanal. The film stars Ben Whishaw as the voice of the titular character, Paddington Brown, alongside Hugh Bonneville, Sally Hawkins, Brendan Gleeson, Julie Walters, Jim Broadbent, Peter Capaldi and Hugh Grant in live action roles.

The film was released last month in the United Kingdom to unanimous acclaim and is in memory of Paddington’s creator, Michael Bond, who passed away in June this year.

Meanwhile, the Girlfriends Getaway, an outing strictly for women held at the cinema on Thursday was a resounding success with host, Arthur Evans charming the ladies and DJ Nospa serenading them on the decks.

During the outing that has won the hearts of many women, they were spoilt with wine and snacks while playing competitions which saw one lucky lady walking away with a bed.

Afterwards, they watched the movie Bad Moms 2 which was perfect for the setting as it had an all-female cast.

After the movie, the women were further treated at Red Cafe which hosted a Girlfriends Getaway after party with Fusion Band further serenading the ladies with DJ Kead Wikead.

Simbisai said the next Girlfriends Getaway would be held on December 21 with the ladies set to be the first to watch Pitch Perfect 3.
