SUNGURA musician Taruvinga “Sugar Sugar” Manjokota is set to release his eighth album entitled Kutsemurirana after a four-year absence.

The goatee bearded artiste’s last offering was Strategy in 2013 before taking a sabbatical in the music industry.

The Sungura artiste who is now based in Gweru, said he wants to launch the album at the end of this month or early next month.

He said shortage of funds saw him failing to launch his album which he finished working on in December last year.

“I have promised Sugar music lovers a new album for a long time but I can tell you that by the end of this month, the album entitled Kutsemurirana will be out,” he said.

He, however, said he was appealing for financial assistance to enable him to successfully launch the album.

Manjokota urged music fans to desist from buying pirated music as such conduct shortchanged artists who should benefit from the sales of their music.

Sugar Sugar released his debut album Zvirimukati in 2004, which carried the hit track Juliana. Apart from Juliana, Manjokota also rose to fame with tracks such as Mairosi, Maonero anosiyana, Zvaonekwa Zvaonekwa among others.

The musician bagged a Nama award in 2008 with his outstanding album “Chamungwarire”. — @lavuzigara1
