As part of the Intwasa Festival koBulawayo 10th anniversary celebrations, organisers have roped in Dendera music frontman Sulumani “Sulu” Chimbetu to perform at the five-day fete.The Sean Timba hit-maker who is touring the United Kingdom will be one of the main acts at the festival which runs from September 23 to 27. He will be part of the Bayethe Bulawayo Concert being held at the Large City Hall on September 26. It will also be his first time to perform in the city this year.

He is expected to share the stage with popular Bulawayo-based group Ndolwane Super Sounds, Albert Nyathi, Rute Mbangwa, Iyasa and Sandra Ndebele.

Festival director, Raisedon Baya said the multi-award winning artiste would be among the guest artistes expected to light up Bulawayo’s biggest arts festival.

“As part of the festival’s 10th anniversary, heeding the calls from partners and fans alike for a crowd puller, we are pleased to announce that the Prince of Dendera music Sulumani Chimbetu will be one of the festival’s main highlights,” said Baya.

Fans of the musician will have an opportunity to sample songs off his forthcoming album at the festival.

Sulu, who is expected to return to the country next week, has over the years become a household name performing tracks from both his compositions and his late father, Simon’s.
