Sulu ropes in Tuku and uncle Allan

Putting his detractors to shame, Suluman has joined hands with his uncle Allan Chimbetu, sweet-talked Oliver Mtukudzi to do parts which were initially supposed to have been done by the late Sam Mtukudzi and roped in Philip Svosve, bringing in saxophone, for the first time, to dendera music.

Allan’s inclusion on the album, where he plays the rhythm guitar on the song Temperature, an old skool dendera song, puts to rest reports that the two do not see eye-to-eye.

Mtukudzi features on the song Kwedu, which was initially supposed to feature his late son Sam who was a close friend of Sulu and had been given a bigger role to play on the album.

Sam was also supposed to introduce the saxophone on the album, a role that Sulu gave to Svosve after the tragic death of Sam in an accident in March this year.

Svosve, a renowned saxophonist who has worked with many musicians locally and internationally, including Simon Chimbetu, Sulu’s late father, features on the song Kure and Faraway.
