GIANT sport broadcaster SuperSport will beam the first leg of the Bob 92 Super Cup final showdown between traditional rivals Highlanders and Dynamos at Barbourfields Stadium on Sunday. The encounter will see European coaches clashing for the first time in history at Barbourfields Stadium when Dutchman Erol Akbay of Bosso tests his prowess against Dynamos’ Portuguese coach Paulo Jorge Silva.

The match is part of ongoing celebrations to mark President Robert Mugabe’s 92nd birthday.

SuperSport spokesperson Sandile Luthuli confirmed that the encounter between the country’s two biggest sides will be beamed live across the African continent.

“I can confirm that the match will be broadcast live on SuperSport,” said Luthuli.

Finer details about the financial package of the clash will be released today at a press conference, according to Zifa communications manager Xolisani Gwesela.

Last year’s winners Dynamos pocketed $40,000 while losing finalists Caps United took $30,000.

Highlanders, who were beaten 1-2 by Caps United in the semi-finals, received $10,000.

Sunday’s showdown is set to attract a full house and present Akbay with his first real test of what is to come in the 2016 season.

While he has been in charge for just three matches, which Bosso have all won, Highlanders fans will almost certainly sign and seal the Dutchman’s contract if he wins against Dynamos.

A loss could prove catastrophic for Akbay, as Bosso fans don’t take kindly to any form of loss to their bitter rivals whether it is a friendly match or not.

Silva has already found the going a bit tough at Dynamos and has made headlines for his temperamental behaviour and clashes with his players.
