BATSMAN Brendan Taylor and pace bowler Kyle Jarvis are in line to make a return to international cricket after they were named in Zimbabwe’s 16-man squad for the two-match Test series against West Indies at Queens Sports Club.

Taylor and Jarvis recently committed to playing for Zimbabwe after spending a number of years playing county cricket in England. It is without a doubt that Taylor will slot into Zimbabwe’s top order for the longer version series while Jarvis is certain to be given the responsibility of sharing the new ball with Christopher Mpofu and Michael Chinouya.

All rounder Solomon Mire as well as wicketkeeper Nyasha Mayavo are the uncapped players named in the squad.

Regis Chakabva and Mayavo were named as the two wicketkeepers in the squad, and the latter could make his international debut if national team coach Heath Streak deems the Midlands Rhinos player to be the better man behind the stumps.

From the team which played Zimbabwe’s last Test match away to Sri Lanka in July, top order batsman Tarisai Musakanda and seamer Donald Tiripano have been left out.

The first Test between Zimbabwe and West Indies starts on Saturday while the second gets underway on October 28.
