Dynamos history-making coach Callisto Pasuwa on Monday broke his silence regarding his fate at DeMbare where some officials and former players are reportedly baying for his blood. Pasuwa said he was aware that some of his former playing colleagues and club executives want him out of the DeMbare dressing room.

In an emotional revelation during an interview with Chronicle Sport soon after leading his team to  a 3-1 win over a determined Bantu Rovers in a Castle Lager Premier Soccer League match played at Barbourfields Stadium, the slim built former DeMbare star said former colleagues and some club executives wanted him out of Dynamos.

There have been media reports of a camp within the Dynamos family that wants to oust the three-time league championship winning gaffer “because he does not fit legendary status” of a DeMbare son.

The group is allegedly led by former club executive member and now board member Simon Sachiti but their efforts are being thwarted by other board members, chiefly Bernard Marriot who was ushered in as chairman, replacing Freddy Mkwesha recently. Even the club patron Webster Shamu is reportedly against the sacking of Pasuwa.

According to Dynamos insiders, a clique backed by board member Sachiti and fronted by chairman Mubaiwa has been pushing for the ouster of Pasuwa while the Marriot camp is said to be the stumbling block as they are supporting Pasuwa.

The Sachiti-Mubaiwa camp reportedly want vice chairman David Mandigora to take over as coach assisted by Tonderai Ndiraya. Others believed to be eyeing the job include Stanley Chirambadare, Elvis Chiweshe, Henry Chari, Misheck Chidzambwa and Simon Chuma.

“To be honest, it’s really difficult for me to talk much about that but the truth is that my former teammates and some guys in the executive have always wanted me out. They are busy trying to plot my downfall but like I said earlier, I will rather not say much,” said Pasuwa before being whisked away to the dressing room by a club marshal.

Speaking to the media in a post-match interview, the Dynamos mentor, the first local coach to win three back to back league titles in Zimbabwe, admitted that he was under a lot of pressure coming to the Emagumeni match and the win has somehow eased that pressure while bringing confidence to the Dynamos family.

“There is always pressure, especially to a team like Dynamos. We are happy we won, coming from back to back defeats,” said Pasuwa.
