A burglar fell asleep on the floor of a Waterfalls woman’s house he had broken into at night and was apprehended while out cold the following morning.
Jackson Sambo broke into 51-year-old Agatha Bakase’s house on Sunday at around 9pm with the intention of stealing.
However, he fell asleep on the floor and a shocked Bakase found him at around 9am on Monday.
Sambo (24) yesterday pleaded guilty to unlawful entry into premises when he appeared before Harare magistrate Ms Paida Mukumbiri.
He has a previous conviction for housebreaking and was remanded in custody to today for sentencing.
Appearing for the State, Ms Constance Ngombengombe said that on Sunday Sambo — who resides in  Chitungwiza — hatched a plan to break into Bakase’s house in Waterfalls.
Inexplicably, he fell asleep on the floor before he could grab any-thing.
The court heard that Bakase woke up around 9am and saw Sambo fast asleep on the floor.
She called for help from neighbours who apprehended Sambo and handed him over to the police.
