Zimdancehall musician, Tocky Vibes, with hit track Aenda Nenyika, led the pack on Saturday evening after taking top spot on the debut Zim Top 10 music video chart show which premiered at 7PM on Zambezi Magic (DStv channel 160).

Roki and Ex Q with popular track, Alleluya, came second while TKae Chidz ft Simba Tagz with Skubu were on third position.

Completing the top five were South Africa-based hip hop musician, Kapital K and Da Ruler. The chart mainly comprised of urban grooves, hip hop and two dancehall tracks. It was mainly dominated by Harare and South Africa-based artistes.

Designed to support the burgeoning Zimbabwe music industry and create a platform for artistes and producers to showcase their talents outside the country’s borders, the chart show belonged to urban grooves artiste, Cindy Munyavi, who had more than one video competing for the top spot.

Her solo track, Kutsvaga Mari was, however, on position eight while Ladies Edition, a track she featured in with Pauline Gundidza and Lipsy, took sixth position.

By taking first position, Tocky proved why he was once famed man-of-the-moment, confirming that Zimdancehall has taken over the local entertainment scene.

Ideally scheduled after top comedian – Kansiime Anne’s show – the Zim Top 10 chart show will be held every Saturday from 7PM. Followers can vote for their favourite songs on various Zambezi Magic platforms including Facebook, WeChat and Twitter.

“Curated by Zambezi Magic and picked by viewers, the Zim Top 10 lets viewers pick fresh tracks they’d like to see at the top of the charts via their social media votes,” Mzansi Magic channel head, Addiel Dzinoreva said.

“The Zim Top 10 also features classic Zimbabwean videos, exclusive new debuts and some fresh videos from the SADC region.”

Stunner and Ba Shupi’s hit, Godo, was also featured as a classic video on Saturday.
