THE Bulawayo Amateur Football Association (Bafa) board will be meeting with league teams to conduct the Townshend and Butcher tournament draw this Friday.
Bafa vice chairman Charles Chunda confirmed that the draw will be held on Friday afternoon at Townshend and Butcher shop.  He said that the sponsor had added four individual trophies as part of the prize package.
“The sponsor has added four trophies as part of the prize package. The individual trophies are for the best goalkeeper, player of the tournament, most disciplined player of the tournament and player of the players trophy,” said Chunda.

The tournament which is probably the oldest Bafa tournament in the city was first held in 1957 and has produced several stars.
BCC West Park, Nga Chronicle, Rebels FC, Matabeleland High City, Mpilo United and Golden Hotspurs will battle it out with ten more teams in this year’s tournament; eight more teams will be joining in for the winners’ trophy.

The 57th edition of the tournament is set to be played in four different venues since the closure of their traditional Barbourfields outside grounds in preparation for the upcoming region five games.

The venues that will be used will be at Mzilikazi High School, Queenspark, Sotshangane and Mzilikazi Youth Centre.
Bafa chairperson Chris Mtungwazi, emphasised the importance of players exercising discipline throughout the tournament and clubs to register their players before the tournament kicks off.

“Players should exercise discipline throughout the tournament and clubs should make sure their players are registered to play in the tournament,” said Mtungwazi.
Tournament knockout stages are expected to kick off on Sunday.
