TRIANGLE coach Kelvin Kaindu yesterday said his side was growing in strength, with each passing game, after they bounced back to winning ways with a convincing home win over Harare City.

Goals from Cabby Kamhapa, Richard Kawondera and man-of-the-match Hillary Bakacheza ensured that they continued their sparkling form at home.

Kaindu was a happy man and predicted an explosive encounter in the top-of-the-table clash against Chicken Inn in Bulawayo in their next match.

“It’s good to maintain a winning record at home after a loss away to Flame Lily. I feel Harare City are stronger than all the sides that we have played so far and a win against them will definitely give us the much needed boost ahead of another thrilling midweek encounter.

“Chicken Inn are currently enjoying good form and they are top on the log, we are second and that will make the game more exciting and explosive,” he said.

The tempo of the game yesterday was high from the first whistle when the visitors could have punished the hosts but goalkeeper Ronald Mudimu responded well.

Mudimu was again called into action three minutes later as he comfortably collected William Manondo’s thunderbolt.

Manondo then missed a glorious opportunity to put the visitors in front in the 20th minute, completely missing Martin Vengesai’s cross, after the speedy winger had eliminated Mudimu with his dribbling wizardry.

City were punished eight minutes later when Kamhapa coolly slotted home for his first goal of the season.

Harare City’s Tino Kadewere had two successive shots saved by Mudimu before he equalised for the visitors on the stroke of half-time.

Zambian international Makundika Sakala replaced Kamhapa, who was taken to hospital after injuring himself, as he scored the opening goal.

Richard Kawondera continued with his goal-scoring form when he pushed the hosts ahead again, scoring his fourth goal of the season, after a blunder by Themba Ndlovu.

Harare City assistant coach, Mkhupali Masuku, was then ejected from the bench for his protests.

Bakacheza capped his performance with a goal after Kawondera’s initial shot hit the crossbar.

“We presented them with two cheap goals and the third one came because we pushed forward trying to equalise but I feel the result is not the true reflection of the game,” said Harare City coach Taurai Mangwiro.
