timely boost by a Harare-based music promoter, who organised shows for Tryson across the country, is in itself a milestone for the young artiste.
Tryson, who took over his late father Naison aka Dr Nero’s music legacy – will this Saturday team up with another youthful and talented artiste, Wellington Mushangwe, at Club Wharehouse in Chitungwiza in what is arguably one of his first major shows as the main act.
“The aim of the show is to give artistes a platform to wean themselves from established artistes and enable them to build their strong fan bases.
“Tryson usually backs the likes of Alick Macheso but since he is now his own man, it is high time he holds his own shows.
“He is on a steady rise to the top of the music game and is talented,” said Oliver Mutafera.
Born in 1987 in Harare, Tryson’s passion for music first developed at a very tender age after being inspired by his late father, whom he used to accompany to shows.
He worked for his father’s band as a cashier before taking music seriously while he was in Form Three.
Tryson is one of the Chimbetu siblings together with Allan and Suluman, who are reviving the dendera music genre that was founded and popularised by the then Marxist Brothers – the duo of Simon and Naison Chimbetu.
He has two albums to his name, with the latest one being “Bvamrod” whose tracks have endeared him with music fans whenever he performs.
The young artiste has also impressed at the national music galas where he left lasting impressions and proved that he is definitely one of the future stars.
On the other hand, his compatriot Mushangwe is one of the unsung upcoming music stars to emerge in Zimbabwe and it is not by coincidence that he has been lined up to share the stage with Tryson this Saturday.
Those who attended the official reopening of Vito Bar a fortnight ago might have noticed that Mushangwe is in a class of his own.
Many wondered why it had taken him so long to make it big in the music industry.
Mushangwe has three albums – “Ngatibatanidzei” (2002), “Maguta Munzara” (2003) and “Tinosvika Chete”.
Revellers should look forward to new songs off his forthcoming album set for release in June.
He is backed by the Tatonga Kwedu Crew.
