HIGHLANDERS’ all-weather benefactor Tshinga Dube flew out of the country on Wednesday for South Africa to expedite the clearance of the long awaited luxury bus for the Bulawayo giants.

All expenses pertaining to the customs duty of the bus, believed to be over $25,000, have been paid.

The bus will be paraded to the public early next month during a ceremony set to be graced by Vice President Emmerson Mnangagwa at Barbourfields Stadium.

Dube is the Zanu-PF candidate for Makokoba constituency in the upcoming June 10 parliamentary by-elections.

“The bus will be handed over to Highlanders on June 6 at Barbourfields Stadium,” said Nothiwani Dlodlo, who was representing Dube at yesterday’s press conference at the Bosso offices.

Dlodlo said the proceedings would start with a road show at the City Hall.

“From there the bus will be driven to Makokoba where it will make a brief stop over at Efusini. From Efusini it will make another stop at Manwele Bar then proceed to Barbourfields Stadium, the main venue of the celebrations,” said Dlodlo.

“What we were also planning was to have a charity match between Highlanders legends and Honourable Members of Parliament. For now we are still picking those that can be able to play. It’s not really a full match, just 20 (minutes) aside.”

The bus is believed to be a state-of-the art luxury coach with an air conditioner, ablution facilities and television screens.
