A FINALLY fit former Tsholotsho FC goalkeeper Farai Sibanda is club hunting after his contract with Iziqholo ZeZhwane ran out during the year he was nursing an injury.

Sibanda broke his knee ligaments two games before the end of 2015 domestic league season after clashing with a teammate in training.

The injury sidelined him for the entire 2016 season.

Sibanda was part of the Tsholotsho squad which made its Premier Soccer League debut in 2015 alongside fellow goalkeepers Nickel Marichi and Chang Marian.

The 27-year-old said the injury had been a setback in his career.

“The injury was a set back to my career as we were just promoted in to the top flight football. That was the time when my footballing career was beginning.

I never stopped training because I wanted to get back in the field. My doctor cleared me and said I’m good to get back and play once again. I’m now ready to pick up where I left off and hopefully I will be able to get a team before the season kicks off,” he said.

Sibanda said he would like to try his luck with Iziqholo ZeZhwane before other teams.

“My contract with Tsholotsho ended on December 2015 soon after my injury so I am a free agent. I’m up for any team that might be interested in my services as I’m not contracted to anyone. I had a great time with Iziqholo because that’s where I began my career and the team helped me to unlock my potential. I have come a long way with Tsholotsho so I wouldn’t mind signing for them before any other team,” said Sibanda.
