WINLESS Tsholotsho believe their recent two successive draws will spur them on when they take on Caps United in a Castle Lager Premiership tie at Luveve Stadium this afternoon. The match had previously been set for Dulivhadzimu Stadium in Beitbridge, but was moved to the City of Kings after it emerged that the border town stadium was booked for another event today.

Iziqholo zeZhwane remain the only team in the league without a win after 20 matches. They have only managed eight draws and 12 losses in the process, conceding 30 goals and scoring just nine.

However, the team posted back-to-back draws against title chasing How Mine (1-1) and Yadah Stars (0-0), and coach Darlington Dodo believes the two draws might just be the tonic they needed to turn the corner this afternoon.

They also have a psychological advantage over Makepekepe, following a forced a 1-1 draw in the reverse fixture and the Green Machine are also no longer as invincible as they were when they lifted the 2016 league title.

Caps return to Bulawayo following a 1-3 defeat at the hands of a Chicken Inn at the same venue, but received a boost ahead of their visit by beating ZPC Kariba 1-0 courtesy of a wonder strike from the boot of Dominic Chungwa.

“It’s not going to be an easy match. Caps are a good team and obviously with our position on the log, we are going into the match as underdogs. We are going to give it our best shot and who knows, probably the two draws in succession are a sign of better things to come and this could be our turning point. So we will do our best to grind a good result and lay the foundation for our great escape,” said Dodo, who has previously coached Gunners and Botswana’s Tafic. — @skhumoyo2000
