IN a bid to survive relegation, Tsholotsho FC have bolstered their squad by signing five players, including a Ghanaian.

However, the Zhwane Boys are also on the verge of losing influential captain William Stima to FC Platinum.

Stima’s move to FC Platinum is expected to be sealed today, as his agent George Deda was spotted in Zvishavane yesterday with FC Platinum officials.

Tsholotsho seem to have accepted Stima’s departure and have brought in Blessing Chirwa from DSTV in Harare, Rasheed Nyamadjiwa from Kombami FC, former Zambian side Zanaco player Zimiseleni Moyo, Kofi Yeboah from Ghana, as well as 2012 Soccer Star of the Year finalist Nkosana Siwela.

Yeboah and Siwela were second half substitutes for Iziqholo zeZhwane in their 1-1 stalemate against Mutare City Rovers at Luveve Stadium on Wednesday. The result helped Lizwe Sweswe’s side move away from the relegation zone by one place up from 15th place. Two teams face the chop this year.

“You might have seen two new faces in our game against Mutare City. We also have in our books three more guys whom we hope will help us survive relegation. As for Stima, no deal has been finalised as yet, but we hope by tomorrow (today) finality will be reached. Chances are equal though that he might not go,” said Tsholotsho chairman Mlamuli Phiri.

FC Platinum spokesperson Chido Chizondo confirmed that they had made a formal request for the gifted defender, who is also deadly from free kicks.

“We have made a formal request to Tsholotsho for Stima, but nothing concrete has come out as yet, although we are confident of landing him. For now he is still a Tsholotsho player,” said Chizondo.

Stima will become Norman Mapeza’s third signing in this transfer window after Mackayi Kawasha from Botswana outfit Police X1 and Charles Sibanda’s surprise catch from How Mine.
