MDC Renewal Team leader Tendai Biti has said MDC-T president Morgan Tsvangirai has lost political relevance and must not be taken seriously as a politician. Addressing his party’s provincial executive meeting in Masvingo on Saturday, Biti described Tsvangirai as a violent man and criticised his plans to embark on nationwide demonstrations.

The former MDC-T secretary general said it was high time Tsvangirai left others to lead.

“Tsvangirai totally failed to steer the ship to the promised land of Canaan when he decided to expend his energies on women instead of concentrating on real issues. Tsvangirai is now irrelevant and we can no longer take him seriously as a politician,” said Biti.

He said Tsvangirai’s deplorable behaviour of sowing seeds of hatred and confusion within the party, had forced people like him to leave the party.

“ As members of the MDC Renewal party we said, no, we can’t continue dining and wining with such a person whose behaviour negates the tenets of democracy. He’s like a ‘tokoloshe’, grandmaster of gossiping. It’s a shame for a big man like him to be known as the architect of divisive politics and lies,” said Biti.

He dismissed the national elective congress held in Harare over the weekend as a non-event saying Tsvangirai had engineered it as an attempt to gain legitimacy.

Biti said the MDC-T leader’s insatiable appetite for women was his greatest undoing as he wants to act like the Biblical Adam.

“Tsvangirai’s love for people of the fairer sex is appalling. He doesn’t want to miss any woman. He behaves like Adam but Adam is absolved because he was deceived,” he said.

He said his party was working on a grand collision with other opposition parties and they had a meeting with Professor Welshman Ncube’s MDC recently over the issue.
