The tour, being promoted by UK promoter, Icons Of Africa, promises to be one of the biggest Southern Africa gigs in the UK with Zimbabweans, South Africans and other nationalities expected to throng the two venues.

Icons of Africa spokesperson, Ezra “Tshisa” Sibanda, said the show would be a battle of the acoustics.

“There’s no better combination to entertain revellers on Easter than pitting Southern Africa’s best acoustic guitarists Tuku and Zahara together. Many music lovers have a genuine admiration for Mtukudzi and Zahara works as they are true artistes who love what they do and express it effortlessly.

“Their show is one not to miss as it’ll be a battle of the acoustics,” Sibanda said.

Zahara – the Loliwe and Incwad’ encane hit-maker – said she was looking forward to the shows, especially performing with Tuku.

“I love the atmosphere of sharing the stage with Africa’s legend, Oliver Mtukudzi. I always feel good playing alongside him and I feel so much at home,” said the songbird.

The evergreen Mtukudzi said: “I watched Zahara perform on many occasions and she has always been impressive. She is one hell of a talent and the UK people won’t be disappointed.”

He has been the most successful and most sought after African artiste in the UK and is expected to feature songs from his latest album Mukombe Wemvura and his classic hits from previous albums at the show.

Sibanda said Zahara, whose name means shining, was indeed a shining star.
