TWO Bulawayo models were on Sunday evicted from the Miss World Zimbabwe boot camp in Victoria Falls after having spent only three days. The two — Ideology Munhuwenhamo and Everjoy Mukapaira — were evicted together with Angelina Ncube from Matabeleland North and Nyasha Maziya from Harare. Fifty two models are now gunning for the Miss World Zimbabwe title, with 25 representing Bulawayo.

They are all not safe because at least three more will be sent packing from camp today.

The models, who are camped at a four-star hotel in the resort town, are participating in various activities including sports, etiquette and grooming as well as public speaking. They are being judged from their performances at these activities with those failing to quickly grasp concepts being evicted periodically.

According to the pageant organisers, preparations for the contest’s finale are at an advanced stage with soulful musician, Trevor Dongo set to perform again this year. He will be joined by Zora legend, Leonard “Karikoga” Zhakata at the finale taking place at Mermaids Pool Resort in Shamva — 40km out of Harare.

Miss World Zimbabwe spokesperson, Tendai Chirau said the finale would once again be a black tie, red carpet event with invites for those interested in attending the event available at the Miss Zimbabwe Trust offices — La Chelle in Harare.

“There’re no tickets being sold, what’s available are invites which are being sold at $300 per person. People are free to visit our offices to get invites,” he said.

Chirau highlighted that invites were fast running out as they were selling like hot cakes.

“People should be advised that the venue will only accommodate 600 guests as there’re only 60 tables. They need to get their invites early before the venue fills up.”

Chirau said the Road to Miss Zimbabwe programme was expected to start airing on ZBCtv later this week.
