A JILTED vendor smeared human waste on her ex-husband’s house in revenge, a court heard yesterday.

Lister Moyo (35) of Emakhandeni suburb in Bulawayo allegedly went to Mr Joram Wabayi’s (pictured) house in the same suburb, relieved herself at the door and painted it with her waste.

She appeared before Western Commonage Magistrate Mr Stephen Ndhlovu facing charges of breaching a peace order which was issued late last year barring her from harassing Mr Wabayi (58). Moyo pleaded not guilty and Mr Ndhlovu remanded her in custody to today.

Prosecutor Mr Kenneth Shava said Moyo and Mr Wabayi were once customarily married. “On August 7 last year, at this court, the accused was ordered by the court not to physically, verbally or emotionally abuse the complainant. However, on August 16 this year at Wabayi’s Emakhandeni suburb residence, Moyo emotionally and verbally abused him,” said Mr Shava.

He said she went to the complainant’s residence, shouted at him demanding that he open the door for her before smearing waste on the door.

Moyo denied painting the door with faeces and claimed she had knocked off from her stall and gone straight to bed.

“He is lying, I never went to his house, why would an adult like me play with faeces? He once threatened to fix me and now he is doing it,” she said.

Earlier, Moyo had bayed for Mr Wabayi’s blood at the Western Commonage set down office where she revealed that the two were still bed fellows. “Why do you want to come to me at night yet during the day you claim to have nothing to do with me? Is it because I am a vendor? You deny me in front of these people, but you have been paying my rentals since February. You amaze me,” she said.

“So when you want to sleep with me you forget about your protection order. Where was the protection order when you took me to your fields and slept with me there?” asked Moyo drawing laughter from onlookers.

She produced Mr Wabayi’s clothes to prove he had been at her house recently. Moyo added that she was not worried about her former husband’s attitude as she was still young and on the market and would eventually move on from him.

“I’m only 35, unlike you, I still have a life ahead of me. I am still fresh as you can see and I can replace you snappily,” she said drawing more laughter.

Mr Wabayi admitted the clothes were his but said he could have left them at her house when they separated last year.

He rubbished Moyo’s claims and said that she just could not accept that their relationship was over.— @andile_tshuma
