THREE men from Victoria Falls allegedly kidnapped three minors aged between 12 and 15 years in Hwange and raped them over four days in the resort town.

Hwange magistrate, Mrs Portia Mhlanga-Moyo heard this when Nkosikhona Moyo (18), Crispen Sibanda (26) and Carlos Dube (28) appeared before her on kidnapping and rape charges.

The trio was not asked to plead and was remanded in custody to December 14. The accused persons all reside in Chinotimba suburb. Moyo and Sibanda are charged with kidnapping and rape while Dube is facing a kidnapping charge only.

Prosecuting, Ms Loveness Maseko said the minor girls are in Grade 7, Form 1 and Form 3 at different schools in Hwange. The accused persons allegedly picked the three girls at a night club at midnight and went on a joy ride to Victoria Falls despite the minors’ protests.

“On Friday, 25 November, the accused persons picked the complainants at Hwange Colliery Club around midnight and they departed for Victoria Falls.

“Upon arrival in Victoria Falls they went and stayed at Moyo’s house number 4517 Chinotimba up to Tuesday when they were arrested,” said the prosecutor.

Moyo and Sibanda allegedly had sexual intercourse with complainants without their consent.

The matter came to light when the parents of the girls reported them as missing after realising that they had not returned home.

Police investigations led to Moyo’s place of residence where the men were arrested.

The girls were taken to Hwange Colliery Hospital where they were medically examined and results are yet to be presented in court.
