Vincent Bones has achieved everything he set out to do this past year.
The once homeless kid touched the hearts of millions last year when he won the 10th season of Idols South Africa. He has since bought a house for his family and his debut album was released at the weekend.

Titled Shaded Soul, Bones, 30, worked with big names such as Kwesta, The Jaziel Brothers and Ziyon on the album which is now available in selected music stores and on iTunes. It has influences of kwaito, house, jazz, R&B and soul.

The star said he owed his success to Idols organisers who gave him the platform to shine and have his music talent recognised.

“I’m grateful to Idols because without it, I wouldn’t have been able to work with the calibre of people I did on the album,” Bones said.

“The album is who I am and what has influenced my musical journey.

“My life has changed completely and I can now do things that I wasn’t able to before.”

Bones said one of the songs on the album, My Lady, featuring The Jaziel Brothers is a song that people can dedicate to their loved ones.

“Those ladies in the song are my wife and late mother. The entire album is from different pages of my diary that people from all walks of life can relate to,” he said.

Speaking about the title of the album, Bones said: “The vision of the album is that of an artist painting with different shades, which to me is about the different genres on it and the soul I bring to each song.”- DailySun.
