THE Premier Soccer League has called on members of the public to vote for their Top 10 players who illuminated the football scene since the birth of the league 25 years ago.

In a post on their official Facebook site, the League said nominations will remain open and close on October 18 after which an official Top 50 list of players who dazzled the local football scene will be released.

It did however not specify when the final list will be made public but indications are that it will be unveiled when the League holds its 25 years celebrations later this year.

“Twenty-five years ago, football clubs led by Morrison Sifelani, Chris Sibanda, Victor Zvobgo, Roger Muhlwa and others gathered in Harare to form the National Premier Soccer League. The League has grown and developed over the years with over 70 clubs having participated in the PSL. The League has produced many great footballers who dazzled the soccer stadia dotted around the country. We invite you to nominate your Top Ten (10) players for the shortlist of 50 Best Players who played in the Premier Soccer League between 1993-2017. Nominations close on 18th October, 2017,” reads a statement on the PSL Facebook site.

The post has excited some interesting debate on various social media sites by fans and it all points to a very taxing adjudication exercise for the league to zero down to the final 50 but its certain that a number will come from the 1993 to 2007 era.

Some of the players will surely come from the now defunct sides like AmaZulu, Blackpool, Njube Sundowns, Eagles, Zimbabwe Saints, Black Aces, Daryn T, Masvingo United to name but just a few.
