PRISONS and Correctional Services side Whawha’s fight against relegation receives a major boost tomorrow when Nyaradzo Funeral Assurance hands over a bus to the club.

The donation will take place at Whawha Prison Complex and will boost the team’s morale ahead of their Castle Lager Premier Soccer League clash with FC Platinum at Mandava Stadium in Zvishavane on Saturday.

Whawha have no team bus and had been relying on the benevolence of Takesure Sibanda, the director of T and H Transport, who once bankrolled the now defunct Premiership side Hardbody.

Whawha chairperson Musa Ntonga said: “We have been informed that the bus has been delivered to Nyaradzo and they have been branding it. They have told us they will come to us tomorrow (today) to finalise the handover ceremony.

“Our prayer is that the bus will be delivered on Friday.

“We have been made to understand that all is now in order on their side for the delivery of the bus to the club and as Whawha we appreciate the kind gesture which I’m sure will go a long way in motivating the boys in our quest to remain in the Premiership.”

Premiership sides Dynamos, Caps United and Mutare-based army outfit Buffaloes are some beneficiaries of the Nyaradzo buses.

Black Rhinos and Black Mambas exited the topflight league with a “golden handshake” after also receiving the buses from the funeral service provider.

Ailing Bulawayo giants Highlanders were also presented a Nyaradzo bus but declined to use it arguing that they would be in breach of their main sponsors BancABC.

The Nyaradzo Group broadened its involvement in football when it unveiled the partnership dubbed “The Score Pack Plan” with the Premier Soccer League in 2013.
