ACTION continues in the Zifa Central Soccer League (CSL) today with the clash between second-placed Whawha and Chrome Stars being the pick of the fixtures.

Whawha are on 28 points and two points adrift of log leaders Ivan Hoe. The prison wardens have been lumped with the title favourites tag while Chrome Stars have been touted as the dark horses.

The chrome miners have a youthful side that hasn’t lost against the so-called big teams and can derail Whawha’s good run.

Yoramu Ngwira, the Chrome Stars coach, said they have respect for Whawha, but will be playing to get a result away from home.

“We are treating this game like all other games because we take each game seriously. We have great respect for Whawha, if you look at where they are on the log and what they want to achieve, but we are up to the task at hand and will fight to come out with a positive result tomorrow (today),” said Ngwira.

His Whawha counterpart Luke Petros-Jukulile will be hoping that his side responds positively after its winning streak was broken by MSU last weekend in a 0–0 stalemate.

The former Warriors’ striker said they have put the draw behind them and will be aiming at securing maximum points against Chrome Stars.

“It’s going to be a tough match as Chrome Stars is a tough side which has youthful players that have played together for a long time. However, we have enough arsenal to dismantle them and we hope to get a result tomorrow,” said Petros–Jukulile.

Elsewhere, another mouth-watering encounter is in the offing at Peak Mine Stadium today when Nichrut takes on ZPC Munyati in Shurugwi. Nichrut was recently awarded the abandoned game against Silo United on a 3-0 score line. This enabled the Nichrut to move into fourth place on the league table.

On the other hand, ZPC Munyati struck the right chord last weekend by beating Tongogara 2-1 to end their five-match winless run.
