in their second game of the Junior World Rugby Trophy at Avchala Stadium tomorrow night.
Zimbabwe had a gym session yesterday afternoon and are also expected to have a training session at the match venue this afternoon.
Buoyed by their 38-9 over Canada in their opening game at the same venue on Tuesday afternoon, the hosts believe they have what it takes to come out with another win over Zimbabwe.
Georgia beat Canada in the second game of Pool B after Zimbabwe had fallen 37-24 to last year’s runners-up Japan at Shevardeni Stadium on day one of the tournament.
And it is this win over Canada, in a tense match that saw Canada only manage three penalties in response to four tries (three of them converted) and four penalties, that makes the hosts feel they have the potential to run over Zimbabwe.
Despite the confidence in the Georgian camp, Narimanashvili said he was aware of how Zimbabwe play given that they were part of the tournament last year while Georgia last took part in the same competition three years ago.
The Georgia finished third in the eight-team tournament following their 34-10 win over Romania in Santiago but the Young Sables only got their first appearance in the JWRT last year.
And by virtue of being hosts, Georgia bounced back this year with a bang beating Canada, who finished sixth last year, and tomorrow evening they face the Young Sables who finished seventh in the same period.
However, this will be a different challenge for both Zimbabwe and Georgia with coach Narimanashvili saying he will treat all the teams with caution.
“Because Zimbabwe are here it means they are a good team, we are the European champions and they also fought hard in their regional competition to win and that is why they came to play here.
“We are just focused on our goal and our goal is that we will win the tournament because we do not have another chance of making it to the bigger tournament (the Junior World Cup).
“We believe that nothing can stop is and we will win all the games that we will play at this tournament. The truth is that we would like to surprise everyone here in Georgia and the world.
“We want to be among the best 12 teams in the world, for that we have to win this tournament and we will do our best for it and it is good that we won our first game which is good for the spectators and the players as well,” said Narimanashvili.
However, Narimanashvili said some of his players, who featured in the game against Canada, will not be available due to injury as Goderdzi Chincharauli has been ruled out for the rest of the tournament following a shoulder injury.
“Some of our key players got injured in this game and Chincharauli injured his shoulder and will not be able to play any more games.
“There are some other players that got injured but their injuries are not serious and we will have to hear from the doctor if they are going to play on Saturday.
“But we scored four tries in the second half against Canada and we are now confident and this will help us in the games to come and like any other teams we make mistakes and we are going to get them right,” said Narimanashvili.
