THE Zanu-PF leadership in Masvingo has said there will be no more suspensions or expulsions of members of the party in the province ahead of the 2018 general elections.

In an interview, the party’s provincial chairman, Cde Ezra Chadzamira, said they held a Provincial Co-ordinating Committee meeting on Sunday and resolved that there should be no room for petty fights within the province as members prepare for polls.

He said the forthcoming elections are a foregone conclusion for Masvingo province as a clean sweep is guaranteed given the strength of the revolutionary party.

Cde Chadzamira said if there is a problem, members should sit down and resolve their differences amicably.

“As a party, we have done away with suspensions and expulsions of party members. Our main focus now should be strengthening the party and retaining all the 26 seats in the 2018 general elections. However, that should not be viewed as a licence for indiscipline. Members should toe the party line,” he said.

“This is not the time for factionalism in the party. We should respect each other as members. We should ensure that we retain all the 26 seats, come 2018 general elections.”

Masvingo provincial youth chairman Cde Nobert Ndaarombe said youths in the province would work for the party’s victory.

“As youths, we are not going to be used by anyone. We want to work for the party and ensure that we have another clean sweep, come 2018,” said Cde Ndaarombe.

Zanu-PF Politburo member, who is also the party’s chief whip, Cde Lovemore Matuke, underscored the importance of unity.

He said the province had received four vehicles to register members in preparation for the 2018 elections.

“We need to be united as a party. Unity will take us forward as we prepare for the elections.

“The province has received four vehicles, three single–cab Ford vehicles and one station wagon for purposes of registration of party members throughout the province. We will make sure that the vehicles will not be abused — they should be used for their intended purposes — to win elections,” said Cde Matuke.
