THE Zanu-PF leadership in Masvingo has secured accommodation for all delegates attending the party’s Annual National People’s Conference slated for December in their province.

The conference preparations are now at an advanced stage with the clearing of ground in progress at the showgrounds, the venue of the conference.

The provincial leadership sought graders and caterpillars from the District Development Fund (DDF) and other partners to prepare the venue.

Acting Masvingo provincial chairman Cde Amasa Nhenjana said all was moving according to plan as the local organising committee was receiving the required support from party members and well-wishers.

He said accommodation for at least 7 000 people had been secured.

Masvingo’s hosting of the conference follows the successful holding of President Mugabe’s 92nd birthday bash at the Great Zimbabwe Monument in February where more than 50 000 people were in attendance.

“We have secured about 7 000 beds from a number of stakeholders in the hospitality industry. We expect more than 6 000 delegates and we are assured all will have accommodation. We have our stakeholders who have offered us their lodges and hotels for the delegates to the conference,” said Cde Nhenjana.

He said well-wishers who pledged cash are depositing money into the party’s bank account and hopes are high that the $50 000 target will be surpassed.

Cde Nhenjana said the executive has secured a grader from DDF for the grading of the site to enable them to pitch tents.

“We have also started work on the construction of a new toilet after city engineer Tawanda Gozo showed us where it should be built,” he said
