LEGENDARY musician-cum-pastor, Leonard Karikoga Zhakata thrilled fans who had thronged the UFIC Bulawayo branch for a Mic Challenge Talent Show on Saturday afternoon.The Mugove hitmaker was also the guest judge at the show which had more than 300 people in attendance.

The talent search, which had 10 contestants, saw them taking turns to climb the stage for an opportunity to convince the judges.

In the end it was Encounter Church Choir who came out tops in the Mic Challenge Talent Show after battling stiff competition from the other 10 contestants.

The 25-member group, the first and second runners up all walked away with a recording deal under Rus Studios.

The first prize winners walked away with a recording deal to record a five-track album while the first runner-up got an opportunity to record three songs and the second runners-up  clinched a deal to record two songs.

Encounter choir co-founder failed to grasp air due to excitement of their victory.

“This is an overwhelming victory for us and also a big break for the group, we take this as a stepping stone to reach higher levels and I believe this win is motivation for us as we plan on spreading the gospel of Jesus Christ through music to all denominations across the country,” he said.
