FOOTBALL club administrators from Bulawayo and Matabeleland North will tomorrow meet at the Bulawayo YWCA for a three-day Zifa Southern Region workshop.Fifa Futuro Three instructor Kennedy Ndebele, Zifa education officer Brian Moyo, former judge Sello Nare, Paradzai Matuka and a referees’ instructor will be facilitators at the Level One administration clinic, meant to keep club officials abreast with Fifa’s Club Licensing.

Nare will give a lecture on disciplinary issues with Matuka who is a Zifa Bulawayo Province board member to take participants through the finance topic while the laws of the game will be covered by a referees’ instructor.

Ndebele and Moyo will in between present papers on general football administration, Fifa Club Licensing, strategic planning and match-fixing.

“We want our affiliates to be in the know about what is expected of them to make their clubs successful. This course is for all the Division One teams and other lower leagues within our Southern Region because we have to be on the same wavelength to develop football.

“Clubs need to have proper structures and once they do that it will be easy for them to manage their affairs and even court partnerships,” said Zifa Southern Region chairman, Musa Mandaza.

Registration of players through the Transfer Matching System will be covered. Only Premiership and Division One teams are conversant with the electronic Transfer Matching System which makes it easy to trace the players’ movements when they make transfers and helps detect dubious player movements.

According to the Zifa secretariat, the target is to have all affiliates using the Transfer Matching System by the start of next year.

Meanwhile, the last outstanding fixture from the first round of the season in the Zifa Southern Region Division One Soccer League is set for Hwange and  will feature Mpumalanga United against Portland Cement.
